Job Offers Barometer (BOP) - indicating changes in the number of job offers published on the Internet - increased by 11.5 points in July 2021, the Biuro Inwestycji i Cykli Ekonomicznych (BIEC) reported. For the first time since 1999, BOP reached over 300 points. The number of job offers appearing on the Internet is currently greater than before the epidemic. The percentage of remote job offers, although not in all industries, has tripled over the last year.
The number of job offers appearing on the Internet is now greater than before the epidemic. This was due to the reaction of the private sector to the period of the economy, which was largely unrestricted by the epidemic, expressed, inter alia, by the desire of consumers to catch up with holiday ambitions unfulfilled last year. This fueled demand and As a consequence, it supported employment. However, it turned out to be possible also thanks to the fact that part of the business went offline. The percentage of remote job offers, although not in all industries, has tripled over the last year.
As indicated, an increase in the number of vacancies occurred in each of the broad categories of job offers. Relatively the largest number of them came for manual workers and representatives of service professions, and the lowest in the group of professions requiring education in the field of technical and exact sciences.
"We consider jobs related to digital technologies and those with a high share of remote work to be the driving force of the labor market. Since May last year, we have recorded an over twofold increase in the percentage of offers enabling remote work for representatives of the group of science and engineering," according to BIEC.
The number of job offers addressed to representatives of professions requiring education in social and legal sciences increased in July in the vast majority of categories.
We are noting a slight decline in legal professions and real estate services. In the remaining categories of offers there are more than a month ago, with relatively the greatest number of vacancies in the banking sector, office administration and advertising. In relation to the period before the epidemic, there are almost everywhere more offers. Less there are only in the public sector, sales and corporate purchases, according to BIEC.
Among the group of job offers for representatives of professions intended for graduates of science and engineering, in July, the decline occurred in three categories - production, e-commerce and the construction industry.
In the service competition in July, a decrease occurred only in forwarding. Relatively the largest number of vacancies came in the hotel, media and logistics sectors. In relation to the pre-epidemic period, there are now more new job offers in logistics, education and hospitality, the report also stated.
The Job Offers Barometer is created on the basis of job offers posted on the Internet in cooperation with the Department of Macroeconomics of the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów and the Investment and Economic Cycles Bureau.
