Number of covid cases on Thursday in the Czech Republic rose to 203 compared to last week

Laboratories in the Czech Republic on Thursday revealed 203 cases of covidem-19 disease, which is ten more than a week ago. The numbers have been declining for the week in recent days. The reproduction number rose from 0.85 to 0.90. It remains below one, which indicates a slowdown in the epidemic, on the twelfth day. There are about 12 infected people per 100,000 inhabitants in the last week, the so-called incidence number is the highest in the Pilsen Region, the lowest in the Olomouc Region. This follows from information on the website of the Ministry of Health. Since last March 1, when the first cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in the Czech Republic, the ministry has recorded 1,673,429 cases of covid-19. Most of the infected were cured and 30,363 people with confirmed covid-19 died. There are 12 victims in July so far, none in the last eight days in the statistics. The number of hospitalized in the last days is around fifty. On Thursday, 51 patients required hospital care, two more than on Wednesday and 11 more than a week ago. Nine patients were in serious condition on Thursday. The number of hospitalizations rose above 50 on Monday, having previously remained below 50 since the beginning of July, falling to 25 on 10 and 11 July. Laboratories performed almost 110,000 tests on Thursday, of which about 37,400 were PCR tests. In the most numerous category of tests performed - preventive and comprehensive - the share of positives decreased from 0.08 to 0.07 percent compared to the previous week. In the so-called epidemiological indication of tests, where people are tested, for example, due to possible contact with the infected, the proportion of positive increased from 0.27 to 0.33 percent. The share of confirmed cases in the so-called diagnostic indication, when people with symptoms, for example, are already being tested, rose from 1.08 to 2.11 percent. Paramedics gave 56,306 covid vaccines on Thursday, about 20,000 less than a week ago. They have administered 10,252,027 doses since the start of vaccination, and more than 4.7 million people have completed vaccination. Source: CTK
