Škoda Auto increased sales by 35.2 percent to EUR 10.2 billion
Mladá Boleslav-based carmaker Škoda Auto's sales increased by 35.2 percent in the first half of this year to almost EUR 10.2 billion (about CZK 260 billion). Worldwide deliveries of cars to customers in the first half of the year increased by 20.8 percent compared to the same period last year to 515,300 cars, the company said in a press release today. Last year, the company's overall result was affected by the coronavirus pandemic and closed production facilities for several weeks. This year, the situation is complicated by the lack of chips, so the company has to cancel a number of shifts, for two weeks it almost completely stopped production.
Compared to the same period last year, the operating result increased by 327.2 percent to EUR 974 million (about CZK 24.8 billion). Investments, on the other hand, fell by 24.9 percent to EUR 196 million (less than CZK five billion).
