Apartments in the south of Moravia are the second most expensive in Czechia

Living in southern Moravia is the second most expensive in the Czech Republic after Prague. The reason is the prices of real estate, but also the rent in Brno, which data affect. According to the calculations of the building society Modrá pyramida, people in the region would save for their own apartment in 86 years. The average of the Czech Republic is 56 years old, according to Modrá pyramida. According to the savings bank's calculations, the inhabitants of the South Moravian Region need an average of 137 average South Moravian salaries to purchase their own real estate. "The situation in the region is deviated by Brno, which, as the second largest city, has, of course, significantly increased living costs, which are not offset by the same increased wages," said Lukáš Šlampa, manager of the Modrá pyramida sales network in the South Moravian Region. Wages in the region are slightly below the national average of CZK 36,843, at CZK 36,045. Real estate prices are mainly above average, while the average price of a flat with an area of 65 square meters was CZK 4.8 million in the Czech Republic at the end of last year, but CZK 4.9 million in the South Moravian Region. Due to the high rent, South Moravians would also take longer to save than residents of other regions, with the exception of Prague. They would need 137 full monthly salaries to buy an average apartment, while the average Czech would need 130 salaries. In reality, however, the basic cost of life must be deducted from the average wage - ie rent, energy costs, clothing, food or travel expenses. After deducting these costs, the average Czech will save 56 years for the average apartment, but 86 years for the average South Moravian. In the south of Moravia, the rent is above average, namely CZK 13,800 a month. According to Modrá pyramida, interest in mortgages was growing due to difficult savings in buying one's own real estate, mainly due to low interest rates. However, according to the savings bank, the mortgage market has reached its peak this year and should not continue to grow significantly. Source: CTK
