Building permits in Serbia within 8 days
The World Bank Doing Business writes that building permits in Serbia can be issued in as little as eight days, which is nearly 9 times quicker than it was a year ago. The average amount of time it now takes is 11 working days, whereas in 2016 it was 90. Serbia's Central Register System is even more optimistic, claiming that permits can be produced in six days, which is quicker than the 8 day legal limit for such procedures. In Belgrade, however, it generally takes 14 working days to receive construction permits, whereas in Novid Sad investors can expect to wait 8 days more
.
The National Alliance for Local Economic Development claims that the primary difficulties lie in communications with public enterprises. The fact that they charge for procedures makes the system work more slowly, leading to suggestions that the law declare that such services will be carried out free
